sequin shorts

What could be better than a pair of sequined shorts cover - perfect for pairing silk shirts and of course somersaults. The process I used in this project is almost identical to the scarf shorts - his standard here.
You need:
  • 2 meters of sequin fabric
  • Rubber band to put around your waist
  • Scissors
  • Needle and thread
  • Pins
  • Shorts to default
Make your pattern - check out how I did here to make your own and maintain their standard for their upcoming projects. Simply fold a pair of shorts in the middle (back pockets together) to get your pattern.
2. Fold the fabric in half and place your pattern (or shorts) with side length along the folded edge of the fabric.
3. Cut your piece of fabric. I usually add an inch or more along the edges just to make sure.
4. Now do it again and you have two identical pieces.
5. Unfold its two parts and put together with the right sides (the side with the spangles) facing each other.
6. Place the pins along the two molds, in the middle part rounded.
7.Now sew with your sewing machine (or if you prefer to do by hand).
8. Now might be a bit confusing. After having sewn along the rounded side, hold its two parts (which should now resemble a fabric tube). The seams that are at the outer ends, to be connected to them so that they sit opposite each other in the middle of the fabric tube - and thus make up the fork.
9. Put the part you just created flat and pin together. Stitch along the line of pins using the zig zag.
10. To create a simple waistband, fold over the top 2 inches of the shorts - leaving enough room to fit your elastic and sew down. Leave a small hole in the seam through which to thread the elastic.
11. Finally, pass through the elastic waistband - I use a stick and tape the elastic to the end to make it easier. Once everything is tucked in, sew the elastic together and then finally sew the hole closed on waist (see this post for details on how to make the waistband).
And there you go, simple, right? Sequins may seem difficult to solve, but they are perfectly fine! You can also make lining up their sequined shorts start to hurt - my will bother him, and did not need a coat. But definitely, if you like align. This is the end result.
